Currently not a fan of foxes, they pulled out a bundle of wheat straws and ate all the pollen and grub from the resin bees last night ๐Ÿ˜ข put extra protection now that should keep them out. Extra video of some resin bee love making included

One of the best ways you can help in your garden is to grow lots of open, pollen-rich flowers that they can forage from to stock their nests, like the Common Fleabane these Large-headed Resin Bees are enjoying today. ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ

A female Buffish Mining Bee (Andrena nigroaenea) was a new visitor to our garden this afternoon. Also, a more regular visitor, female Grey-patched Mining Bee (Andrena nitida).

This hideous hanging basket, devoid of plant life, is in the garden because for the lst 3yrs it's been home to leaf cutter bees! At least 6 nests this yr. I think they're Willughby's Leaf Cutters.
Bee nest box going up over winter.

This female has finished her first tube. It is a series of cells created with mud dividers to seal each of them. In each is an egg and a mix of nectar & pollen to feed it once hatched.
