This is not a happy #flatsharkfriday . IUCN Red List announced that #RhinoRays are the most threatened group of marine fishes in the world due to overfishing 😡. We need better fisheries mgmt + MPAs NOW or these could go extinct. I just saw my first shovelnose ray last week 😞.

It’s the middle of the week which means it’s #WedgefishWednesday !!! As you may know, last week 16 species of #RhinoRays (wedgefish & giant guitarfish) were listed on #CITES Appendix II. This included the whitespotted wedgefish (Rhynchobatus australiae) pictured below #hooray4rays
