April 10th 1982: The 'Antrim Group' arrives at Ascension. It consists of County Class destroyer HMS Antrim, Rothesay Class frigate HMS Plymouth and RFA Tidespring. Together they will join with HMS Endurance and return to take back South Georgia, leaving Ascension on the 11th.

April 11th 1982: President Dr Fernando Belaunde Terry of Peru tries to play for time in support of Argentina and calls for a 72 hour cessation of movements 'In order to avoid an armed confrontation which would constitute a serious threat to international peace and security'.

April 10th 1982: Aragones 'Tembo' Navarro, Fidel Castro's envoy, meets with Galtieri, professing Cuban solidarity, and tells him 'Cuba is going to do what you want. As far as you want to go, Cuba will go... Send a submarine and sink a ship... anything...'
