A festival sacred to Minerva, goddess of war, wisdom, strategy, knowledge, trade, weaving, justice, law, crafts, inspiration and creativity. Patron of philosophers, spinners, writers, artisans, doctors, teachers and trumpet players.

#13giugno In occasione delle Idi di #giugno , nell’antica #Roma si festeggiava il rito dei “Quinquatria minuscula” in cui i suonatori di flauti e tube si recavano in processione al tempio di Minerva per onorare la dea.

#19marzo Nell’antica #Roma si celebravano i “Quinquatria”, festa romana dedicata a Minerva, con consacrazione delle armi a Marte e che cadeva cinque giorni dopo le idi di marzo.

Ovid was born during the Quinquatria, the festival of Minerva from March 19–23, on the day of the 'first bloody fights' (i.e. the second day, March 20, when the gladiator games began). He had an older brother, born on the same day the previous year. Happy birthday to both Ovids!
