In 2019, a study of over 21,000 CUNY students found that 48% had been food insecure in the last 30 days. Our students shouldn’t be going to class hungry, or having to juggle buying textbooks with buying groceries.
Their futures can’t wait: we need a #NewDealForCUNY now.
This budget season I’m fighting for a #NewDealForCUNY . As a former Professor at CUNY, I know how important it is to fully fund the school and remove the financial barriers to our young people accessing higher education. It’s time to open the doors of opportunity for our youth.
