I left the full time workforce when my first child was born. I'm not unique; many families are struggling under the weight of child care costs, and providers don't earn a living wage. I'm proud to be a part of the Empire State Campaign for Child Care where we're aiming for #NYSUniversalChildCare .
Child care educators — 96% women, the majority of whom are women of color – earn less than 97% of occupations statewide. They can't afford to wait another year.
