Absolutely vicious conditions out there in Eastern Cape Breton early this AM...we have a major over performer on our hands here.

Apologies about my broken speaker, snow and cellphones don't gel.

1:45pm update. Heavy downpours with thunderstorm risk now over the south shore will be moving into Halifax as students leave school and traffic increases. Highway driving in particular will be challenging with a risk of flash flooding

It’s a little breezy this evening along the Fundy coast. And will continue through tomorrow, where we also have a decent shot at some thundershowers in the late morning to late afternoon! I will be posting if any pop up.

One year since the Nova Scotia wildfires began.
A look back at the precipitation in the few weeks before the fires shows how dry it was... and comparatively, how dry it's been this May.
Current Fire Danger map shows the incoming rain on Tuesday is much needed.

My aunt and uncle are in their 80s and live in Sydney, NS. Today, cadets from the coast guard college (Federal) helped to dig them out after close to 100cm of snow fell. 🇨🇦 A plow cleaned their driveway but the garage door was still inaccessible until today.

It's dropped 8 degrees in the past 3 hours. It's now on the verge of flipping to 0 degrees Celsius. The rain has changed to snow.

It's a good day to stay home in and read a book. My book. The 99 cent sale ends today.

Area shoveler from Sydney discovers long last pavement relics and source of bizarre blue glowing snow mountain. Appears to be a form of ancient transport.
