Still terrified of cycling and keep wobbling/falling.
I hope I get there eventually it's so scary.
I can see why not everyone cycles but I can cycle much further than I can walk and I get to see so much more of my local area than I ever have before.

It’s not just - it’s cycle to Scouts week too!
Still needs more tweaking, but the prototype wheelchair pannier rack mount is back in action: Caused much interest at the Scouts group AGM this evening!

Woohoo! Access open at Mickleover Station Rd NCN cycle route!- little miss asked to go & check again if the A frame was gone yet… so then we had to do a rainy ride “to visit the countryside”! Thanks Derbyshire CC - one VERY happy little girl in our house!

The universe has a dark sense of humour: I extended today’s school run to take photos for discussing resilience of routes.
I’d finished & was heading home to work when…
This would be impassable for me when using my manual wheelchair.

4/4. So during the roadworks, will the opportunity finally be taken to simultaneously install a dropped kerb here – and so enable a more accessible cycle route especially for local such as Sarah?

We're looking at how we can provide cycle facilities for Disabled cyclists & those who use 'non-standard' cycles. If you work at/visit University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS FT & are a Disabled cyclist / use a non-standard cycle - get in touch!

Pooh Crane Ben Bowskill (he/him) Here is a piccie of how Kate Ball of Wheels for Wellbeing takes her wheelchair with her on her E-Brompton if she is going to need to do much 'walking' (ie wheeling) at the other end - beyond the short distance she can actually walk.

I hate it when train stations have a 'cyclists dismount' sign.

Have they considered that some of us end up in pain from walking around the station? Fortuantely I'm at a small station but walking around big stations are exhausting and painful.
