A8: I’m currently re-reading Joan Aiken’s classic, The Wolves of Willoughby Chase. It has a twee, Victorian kind of atmosphere but it is legitimately terrifying. Current MG books are much gentler than this. 😂 #MGBookChat

A5: So many! As a child, my favorite author was John Bellairs. He wrote spooky, gothic mysteries set in New England, and I just loved them so much as a kid. Edward Gorey illustrated the covers. Wonderful atmosphere. #MGBookChat
I can't remember how I stumbled upon #MGBookChat , but I think it was shortly after my debut (WHILE I WAS AWAY) published. Since I'd recently made the switch from screenwriting to novel-writing, I wasn't sure what to expect... but everyone in the MG community has been so kind.
