This pond was treated with 'Effective Microbes' EM clay balls a few years ago. Claim was EM would prevent nutrient availability to cyanobacteria and result in clear water. Didn't do anything and today I measured 530 µg/L cyanoCHL-a. EM cannot control cyano's ! #LakeRestoration

Cyanobacteria flourishing in pond that has been 'treated' with 'magic effective microbes muddballs' some years ago. Clearly a failure. Effective microbes cannot control cyanoblooms! #LakeRestoration
Sampled a pond in Nuenen today where 'effective microbes' were supposed to perform 'bio-dredging'(😲) that would lead to clear water and less algae. Well, there were quite some algae: measured 150 μg/l chl-a. Cyanobacteria cannot be controlled with EM ! #LakeRestoration
