Is a fucking TRIP. Kind of a very Indian take on The Raid 2 via Jodorowski and some beautiful PTSD that took more mushrooms cos the first ones weren't working and doesn't know how it got here but has fully committed to the night. Absolutely wild.

#LASTNIGHTSMOVIE Justice League Snyder Cut.
Minority view apparently but this is epic film-making. The short one didn't make enough sense. There are sexy character arcs throughout, the effects are TITE af + it's fucking massive fun. Yes it takes its time but, y'know, brilliantly.

#LASTNIGHTSMOVIE The First Omen.
Kinda loved this. Beautifully directed by Arkasha Stevenson. Elegant, sustained tension. Patient + classy storytelling. Brilliantly cast. It felt and looked like it would slide right into a double bill with The Omen, which it runs directly into.

A modern masterpiece obvs. Someone I know described a movie this week as empty carbs. This is that. All surface, almost no feeling. But it is nonetheless a supernaturally magnificent piece of entertainment if you've had to spend all day thinking.

Too many songs for me. Which is an unreasonable complaint, f'sure. Tim was great. Olivia better. The story was fun. Looked cool. Tone perfect. Great casting. It was a great success all round really. But, y'know, too many songs for me.

Still absolutely fantastic. Obvs. But also still really funny - Clint is deadpan as hell - regular bouts of violent vengeful slaughter notwithstanding. Sorta like John Wick but with horses instead of cars. And in this, he gains a dog.

#LASTNIGHTSMOVIE The Fall Guy.
Top Fun. A satisfyingly fun Hollywood Action RomCom date movie. Surprisingly meta too. Very smart script, packed with setups + payoffs. Ryan + Emily are perfect together. Fully delivers on the promise of the premise.
I loved it. You will too.

Colin is a PI navigating a Hollywood missing person case, via a very slightly overcooked but wonky Hammett compass. With tons of old movie clips.
Annnnnd then there's tonight's episode which, aside from that odd diary thing, I confess to not seeing coming.

#LASTNIGHTSMOVIE Late Night With The Devil.
Found footage of a (had to be) 70s Talk Show that dabbled with exorcism. It's a LOT of fun. Very inventive, great script and characters. And for a movie set in one place, it twisted its tone + tightened its grip with panache. Loved it.

I'm saying this is a worthy addition to the DH canon. I'm re-enjoying it atm. It's fast, inventive + you'll believe Bruce Willis can fly. Or at least jump through closed windows. Oddly they pass the same Welcome To W Virginia sign as is in Civil War.

Loved it. A smarty, tense + twisty tale. Don't get the criticism. It's a bijou Apocalypse Now for the shining now . Way smarter + subtler than fools have been saying. But that's fools for ya. Be a shame if Alex didn't direct again. He's good at it.
