Kirkdale Cave, near Kirkbymoorside, was discovered in 1821 by quarrymen. Inside were the cracked bone fragments of exotic animals like hyenas, elephants, and rhinos. The Reverend William Buckland, an eminent geologist, investigated the site later that year. 1/3

I spotted these embedded in the stone of an 1830 church font today - I'm wondering what they are and what the stone might be?

Type 35:Slingsby T67 Firefly. First flew @ Kirkbymoorside with company CTP D Headley, subsequently various training and testing in the type, including my aero rtg.

Not big fan. Lw pwr models poor stall safety record, cockpit's great, control forces high. M260 is nicest variant.
