Day 31, the last day of #HistFicMay . My next book is a sequel to The Gilded Cage. It tells the story of young women who appear as minor characters in the previous book. Again, I explore the different worlds of the working class and the elite, and attitudes to #mentalhealth .

So, I've been pumping The Last Saxon King for this month. However, the sequel, The Celtic Deception, is coming out in September. And book 3 in the series, The Mongol Ascension, comes out in 2024.

Final day #histficmay - my next project. We’ll meet up with some characters from The Rose of Florence about 20yrs later. We meet the infamous Savonarola and The Bonfire of the Vanities. We’re also in Florence in 1966, at the time of the great flood. Promises to be quite a ride!

My next project is actually still a bit far... I have 2 actually: my next 🇮🇹 one is the sequel of Storie di Sardegna, this time covering the Modern Era. My 🇬🇧 one is a Romeo&Juliet retelling.

One is that most men of any social standing in 17th Century England would have been able to use a sword to some degree and therefore my MC can.

No, but I thoroughly enjoy writing them if that counts.
My readers tell me they do though and I've fallen for other people's characters in books I've read.
Perhaps after six books, I just know them a bit too well in the making.

If I were to have a cameo in one of my stories then I could be Dame Ellen Langwith a #medieval silkwoman - I transcribed her will from 1480 for a Richard III Society project many years ago, she is one of the real historic characters in my stories

'He's painfully honest, unsure of his own worth, loyal to a fault, and kind of awkward in company.'
