Another convectively-driven dust event for #SaltLakeCity . You can see a downburst develop underneath a severe thunderstorm producing strong winds near the surface, which is kicking up dust along the edges of the #GreatSaltLake , Kennecott tailings, and urban sources of dust.
#Dust being kicked up across #SaltLakeCity from convective outflow. The source of dust looks to be from the Kennecott tailings and/or the southern part of exposed #GreatSaltLake lake bed. PM2.5 exceeded 30 μg/m3 at several stations across the northern #SaltLakeValley
