A great quick visit today to Slimbridge and a walk out to Middle point. Bluethroat showed as well as it does, but star performer was a Short eared Owl which quartered up and down the sea wall and reed beds. A flock of 6 DB Brent’s on the Dumbles and 3 Whimbrel over.

Checked up on the local Dipper spot by the River Cam, just the one seen but spent so much time with a cute Grey Wagtail fledgling! Still getting fed by a *very* overworked parent but can't be long for them!

Slimbridge Sightings I was very pleased to hear and then actually see my first ever Grasshopper Warbler at Mid-Piont today. It looked like 2 of them having a reel-off!, even the Bluethroat made a breif appearance. Also Reed Buntings, Sedge/Reed Warblers singing away.
