This month I added 26K words to my Oracle of Delphi WIP. Total WC is now 445K. I've finished outlining Book 5 and have started writing it. Onward to May! ๐

This week I only added 3K words to my Oracle of Delphi WIP because I started outlining Book 5. Total WC is now 443K. Book 5 will take us into the 5th century BCE.

#FantasyIndiesApril There is so much teasing in my WIP. All of my books, really. My MCs are teenagers, after all. Sean and Celeste especially love to tease each other, but nobody ever goes too far, or cruel. Here is one snippet.

My characters go through a lot - I mean A LOT - of really bad stuff in my Oracle of Delphi WIP. Earthquakes, floods, blizzards, battles, poison, famine, plague - you name it, they experience it.

The one thing I'd tell my younger self is: don't wait so long to start writing. Do it when you get laid off after becoming a widow. You'll have the time then, and you should take advantage of it.

Write what you want. I wasted so much time writing 'safe.' Only once I wrote what I was passionate about did I get anywhere, even though such personal queer stuff being out there made me nervous.

Nix and Max like to tease each other over things like one of them hating sour and the other spicy or make each other laugh with terrible puns. Their friends like to tease them for being so ridiculously sappy with each other.

Virgil would pave paradise and put up a parking lot. Living in Home Office (Hell) isn't really a burden to him.

I had a idea for newsletter content that would be in the form of meeting minutes for the weekly leadership team meeting in Hell. This is a very early draft example of that content idea.

Not a great month for progress. Good to recharge though.
My partner and I went to a fancy hotel and got upgraded to the terraced suite as it was my birthday and off season.
We went to the Kurt Vonnegut museum in Indy too. It was a good day.

My MC, Virgil.
Virgil's a good man b/c of his faults, his ADHD makes him caring, his pride makes him conscientious, and his cunning makes him effective.
In any other story, he'd be the villain.

Lucifer never got to see the ocean. Virgil has a pair of cruise vouchers he periodically renews, just in case he figures out a way to free Lucifer so they can go together.
