.Harrison Smith, thanks for the obituary for Jessie Maple. One correction: Daughters of the Dust is NOT the first feature directed by a Black woman to be distributed theatrically in the United States. Euzhan Palcy's A Dry White Season (1989) was distributed by MGM.
