The #BayofPigs veterans gave #JFK the flag of #Brigade2506 in an event at the Orange Bowl in Miami in December 1962. The flag, Kennedy said, would be returned to the brigade “in free Havana.”
In 1975, the Bay of Pigs Veterans’ Association sued for the return of the brigade flag;
62 years ago today, my father and his brothers in arms from the #Brigade2506 were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to see a free Cuba.
