Meet me out back where I'll be kicking ass & taking names over Kevon & Melvin's version being better than Daryl & John's
(and I loves me some H&O)

Live recordings are an art. Sometimes, artists change a song for live performance but lose something that you loved in the original. But sometimes the elevate it and improve on it.

For Day 6 of the , share a favorite live version of a song.

Instantly thought of the Black 'British Invasion' of the '80s
Love the hades outta Jane Eugene/Loose Ends, Soul II Soul, 5 Star, etc.
But I think 52nd Street got lost in the sauce a lil bit

This forgotten gem covers several (s) in one: cookout/summer anthem, you'd have to have some years on u to appreciate the good ol' days, which triggers all the feels of times gone by with family no longer here

I sang this Queen’s music at the top of my lungs as a youngin. I even had to perform as her for a Black History program in elementary school lol. Had no idea what was really good, but after living a lil bit I grew to appreciate & love her even more 🫶🏾

First of all… I am firm in believing the downfall of Black romance is because we losing recipes and not hearing monologues like this no more. Lionel put it all on the line and I fear I would fold if my Bae played this joint for me lmaooo

Roberta did her thing, but I don’t think it’s up for debate that the Fugees took this song to an entirely different place.

So close! 😩

I went to South Africa around 2008/9. While I was there, I went on a tour w/ one of the best local guides ever. It was amazing ✨

We are driving, he plays this South African artist, and my mind was blown. I have been in love w/ his music ever since.

It's the LAST DAY, kids!!

This final question, to me, is the music equivalent of peeking in someone's medicine cabinet or drawers. It can be very revealing 👀

For Day 30 of the , tell us which song is the most played in your music library.

Music stimulates the part of our brain connected to emotions memory. That's why a song can put you right back in time and place, and why we identify some songs so strongly with specific people.

For Day 29 of the , share a song that reminds you of family.
