Essential reading for #AdopteeRights advocates: Rickie Solinger's 'Wake Up Little Susie' (1992). The research has been out there now 3 decades+. She examines the U.S. #Adoption system/its harms 1945-65, showing unequal treatment of white and African-American women. Great book!

To my #AdopteeRights friends, if you want to support good causes, I can recommend many. I would strongly urge you to NEVER give a dime again, EVER, to any branch of the ACLU until the group formally apologizes for the harm it promotes in legislative settings to 'class adoptee.'

Awe. Look at me at giddy holding my newly published book from six years ago. I asked a woman passing by to take my picture. She did and asked about my story. And GUESS WHAT, her best friend is a birth mother who gave up her daughter who she found later. Yup. #AdopteeRights
