Thank you, Vladimir! 'A honor just to be nominated' is a cliche, but truly applies here. Feels wonderful to know you, Seema Sahay, Xiaoxi Meng (Peggy), Guangchao Sun, Ravi Mural & Marcin Grzybowski each felt motivated put together or endorse the nomination package. Thank you all.

My first day as an assistant professor was ten years ago today. When I showed up in 2014 I had no office and no any idea how to write grants, mentor students, or any of the other parts of being a prof. ...It was terrifying...

Tom Clemente has achieved more positive impact in the world from his research than almost any professor I know. He is also a great faculty mentor. Was wondeful to help celebrate Tom Elmo Clemente's receiving the Larry Tonniges Research Achievement award today. Congrats, Tom!

Great to see grad students and postdocs to share their science in the Nebraska Plant science symposium organized with the help of Corteva Agriscience. Particularly happy to see talks from my colleagues Amany Gomaa talking about gene tagging impact on virus & Harshita on TWAS on Sorghum

I think we're doing a good job of pursuing #1 and #2. But we're only just starting to see excitement and investment around the winter cash crops (winter peas, pennycress, winter canola, etc) that enable farmers to harvest two crops from the same field each year for #3.

Always interesting to hear about the unusual things other people need to know about working with Americans.

Made the mistake of telling five different people 'I'll get to it this weekend.'
One commitment down, one or two more to go, and two or three apology e-mails to write tonight.

About twenty minutes into Rebel Moon part 2, so far seems to be a cautionary tale about the dangers of growing wheat instead of corn.

Cleaning out the lab. Found these two envelopes in a pile of seed packets dated to circa 2015: “Maize” and “Maize Better.”
