Right now national grid are paying £500 per MWh to offload excess electricity abroad. Can’t help feel there might be a better way of doing this? My car already gets triggered to charge when energy is cheap overnight, if we did the same with immersion heaters, washing machines etc

This is turning into quite the debate. Why is 25fps so bad? Why are non-technical viewers finding this decision odd to watch? I’m wondering if a blog post or thread might be of interest in which I try my best to explain why based on the history of film and the way our eyes work?

I am nailing my colours to the mast when I say 25psf for ANY live event is wrong.

Not necessarily worse, just probably not as customisable to get the best look for light entertainment. All cameras have weaknesses and personal preference plays a big part obviously but there’s a reason why the big names choose certain brands.

With the potential for the #aurora to wipe out communications and power systems, thank goodness there isn’t a major event happening tomorrow that relies on a lot of communications over cable and satellite.. you know, like a song contest or something?
