Just received a proof copy of 1984 - The Year Pop Went Queer by Ian Wade. The central thesis is right there in the title, fleshed out via the activities of Frankie, Bronski, Smiths, Divine and more. A refreshing take on the 'year in pop' format. Out on @NineEightBooks in July.
