The great Patti Labelle, who is 80 tomorrow, talks to me about triumphs, disasters and why she's got the best ahead of her.

The The Labour Party frontbencher said when in Govt they will move 'at pace' to release those prisoners who could be released.
At pace. Not now. Not for many months. But at pace.
Remember, justice delayed is justice denied.
Shame on Labour for failing to help prisoners, now.

'Labour won't back desperate IPP prisoners'
Shame on Labour. Pure political cowardice. And the biggest shame is that it comes from a former (decent) director of public prosecutions. Unforgivable.

This is the piece I wrote about the contaminated blood scandal six years ago. Virtually all the information was provided by Su Gormon, who along with her husband Steve Dymond, died before the final report came out today.

Lovely piece by Jim Reed on the great Steve Dymond and Su Gormon who did so much to highlight the contaminated blood scandal but didn't live to see the result of their campaigning work. Thinking of them in particular today, alongside many others.

Simon Hattenstone Josh Halliday Patrick Butler 2.cont.. only picked up 10 months later when they owed me money
I would like to see all political parties stop this cruel and heartless method of recovery and amnesty declared .After all in most cases it’s the DWP fault and their manner is authoritarian and nasty to claimants.

Simon Hattenstone Josh Halliday Patrick Butler Disgraceful and it happened to me but was a very small amount and it was DWP fault as for various reasons I ended my claim but they still kept paying me that included around 5/6 phone calls from me telling them and online but I made slight mistake..,

Vile. Vile. Vile.
If the countries aren't safe, as the Home Office admits here, why are they being denied asylum?

And, as it happens, 51% of refusals are overturned on appeal.

More than 134,000 people who care for loved ones are being forced to repay often huge carer’s allowance overpayments. The debts are incurred in many cases through no fault of their own.
Fantastic work by Josh Halliday and Patrick Butler
