Multiple sources say Governor Kathy Hochul will announce this afternoon NYS Office of Cannabis Management Exec Director Chris Alexander will not be reappointed in September, and Chief Equity Officer Damian Fagon, who is on administrative leave, will be removed from the agency.

Gov. Hochul has announced Chris Alexander will remain at the helm of OCM through Sept.

Meanwhile, down at the meeting off the concourse, a few have stood to support Alexander, saying it’s unfair for him to step down. One man got emotional.

“The smart move by Myrie would be to claim credit for being part of the group of people who knew how to solve New York City’s problems — migrants, housing and other related issues,” Hank Sheinkopf, PhD told Spectrum News NY1.
