Light rain showers continue across the western side of Alabama this afternoon. Heavier shower has developed near Leroy, Jackson, Wagerville, Bigbee, and Sunflower.

I expect a few more showers and perhaps a few storms to develop over the next few hours. MOST spots to remain dry.

Most communities across the region will not have rain today. Rain returns Thursday into Friday along with a chance of a few strong storms.

Arguably the worst nomenclature in all of current American meteorology… yet also something we all need to be aware of as we approach hurricane season!

Rain and thunderstorms become likely on Thursday evening into Friday ahead of a cold front passing through our region. There is a chance for a few strong to severe storms locally in that time frame. Something to watch over the next few days!

Partly cloudy skies with a few isolated P.M. showers are expected on this Tuesday. Today will be quite reminiscent of what happened yesterday in the weather world across south Alabama and northwest Florida.

High temperatures will be in the upper-80s.

Have a nice Tuesday! 👍

We are quiet across south Alabama and northwest Florida, thankfully. Conditions across parts of Oklahoma and Kansas are just getting primed for a very long evening with intense (EF3+) tornadoes being possible. Extremely large hail (4-5') is also a major concern.

Another way to look at it: the median intense tornado has moved quite east over the last 100 years

(I suspect this figure already exists in some published study about shifting tornado alley, but was easy enough to generate with pandas)
