#ProTip : If you dig out those solar eclipse glasses and look at the sun, you can see the giant sunspot near the bottom of the solar disk that is responsible for the solar flares/CME's that caused the enhanced aurora. (Still unsure they will be visible this far south though.)

In addition to the large sunspot group and numerous solar flares, these two large prominences (over the Sun’s edge) have been stunning to watch too, even through amateur H-alpha telescopes. One of these broke apart last night, seen here in GOES/SUVI data #spaceweather #astronomy
