Looks like we found Ophrys fuciflora chestermanii - a orchid subspecies (some say species) only found in SW Sardinia 🙂 Naturetrek

Flycatchers passing through Lumbini area this Spring: Slaty-backed, Ultramarine, Asian Paradise, Black-naped Monarch & Asian Brown (photos). Asian Brown's drab plumage means the bird is easily missed by many. Flycatchers are in Nepal for breeding; help control insect populations!

Bedtime treat for Naturetrek clients at the delightful Il Duchesa in Alberese. It took some finding but here is one of the Scops Owls that serenade us each night.

My Naturetrek group had a super day on the Suffolk coast despite the wind and rain! Nightingales, Grasshopper and Willow Warblers in song were followed by migrant Bar-tailed Godwit, Whimbrel and Wheatear then Adder, Stone Curlew and finally a bonus Red-backed Shrike 1/2

A sunny, but very breezy start to my Gargano orchid trip for Naturetrek. Colourful Sawfly Orchids were the stars today, but we found many other species.

An amazing first day exploring the Isle of Mull for Naturetrek. These shots of two separate females and kits were taken during the first morning. Fieldcraft is so important to prevent disturbance & maximise the customer experience. A wonderful start to the tour.

Over 30 species of orchids seen so far on our Naturetrek trip to Gargano with some present in incredible abundance.

When the wind blows, hit the woodland where sheltered glades will produce one or two gems. Aljezur area and then onto the dunes with Naturetrek. Marsh Fritillaries and Adonis Blue particularly stunning.
