My daughter aka DJ Chicken Jerky played a three hour set for the EMPOWER HER exhibition opening last night at the Gangway Gallery last night. She was very nervous at first but powered through. We’re very proud of her.

The process of a new 3’x3’ painting for one of my private collectors. They requested a piece that was filled with their favorite things such as Studio Ghibli, Sanrio, anime, Harry Potter, and lots and lots of color. Luckily I adore the same things.

My collectors saw the surfboards I did for the Oakley flagships and wanted one of their own. I also included his favorite quote on the back of the board.

I am looking forward to seeing this on display.

So proud of our little Ella for teaching her first art class at Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center. I was her assistant and she even requested that I call her “Miss Ella” during the lesson. Everyone did such a great job following along and I learned a few new things as well.

Also, the dragon is also Ella’s year. She was born in 2012 and is a water dragon.

Process of a new painting for “Nerdstalgia”. A group show curated by Ken Flewellyn at Thinkspace Gallery in LA. Opening on Saturday, February 10th.

The painting is a portrait of Motoko Kusanagi. The main character of one of my all-time favorite animes - Ghost in the Shell.

Our last day of World Wide Walls Doha was spent in the sand dunes of Qatar. A family adventure with dune bashing and swimming in the Persian Gulf.

An inspiring excursion into the desert of Qatar with the World Wide Walls family to see sculptures by Richard Serra, Olafur Eliasson, and Ernesto Neto.

Adventures with Kevin Lyons, Juan Carlos, and Adry Del Rocio at Education City in Doha, Qatar. Highlights included the National Library designed by Rem Koolhaas and playgrounds of course.

Magical days in the Mina district of Doha, Qatar. Continuing into the evening with explorations into the vast wonders and curiosities of Souq Waqif with Caratoes, Pablo, and Moh and family.

Another sunny day of painting the walls of the Mina District at the Old Doha Port with World Wide Walls Doha and Qatar Museums.

Spent the day visiting the POW! WOW! Doha murals from 2021. Such a stunning display right outside of the metro station. Then off to explore the National Museum. Probably one of the best history museums I have been to. The architecture and exhibition design were astounding.

A full day of painting in Mina with World Wide Walls Doha and Qatar Museums. The people have been nothing but generous to the artists and crew.

After almost 30 hours of travel and crossing a multitude of timezones, I finally arrived in Qatar for World Wide Walls Doha. Here are the sights and sounds of the first days of our second festival in Doha with Qatar Museums.
