This week is yet another heartbreak in the recent history of Hong Kong. 2003, 2014, 2019 were all moments of opening. Of opportunity. But recently it feels like all we have are closures, the space of possibilities shrinking. More dark days ahead I'm sure.

Incorporating the current offence of seditious intent into the new law will further expand the catch-all nature of the law, creating a 'pocket crime' to silence any critics.
