Great screening of the documentary Shame of Chicago Chicago Teachers Union today that highlights the origins of the campaign exposing how banks and the FHA used redlining to harm Black and working class communities in the 1970a. Another reason to guarantee that housing is a human right.

Last week i got to read a story and have a 20 minute interaction with my niece's 1st grade class Brentano Elementary . I couldn't have done it for 30 minutes. Much appreciation to their teacher, Ms. Kozisek. Educators move mountains!

All students deserve to see themselves reflected in their classrooms. Those who identify as LGBTQ+ enrich our school community & our lives. Forcing teachers to take down pride materials won't change that, but it will make these kids feel unwelcome.
