The Fighting Irish held a jersey scrimmage inside Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday. Blue & Gold was on hand to observe the entire thing.

Freeman on Jaden Greathouse: 'His natural position coming into Notre Dame was at slot receiver.'

Out of necessity, the Irish played him on the outside last year. But this spring, Freeman said, he's showed that he's truly capable of playing all over the field.

Freeman said over the last two or three weeks, Notre Dame has been moving Jaiden Ausberry around to different spots in order to get him on the field. That includes nickel.

'That's what spring's about,' Freeman said.

Tyson Ford is taking some personal time off 'to figure out what he wants to do moving forward,' Freeman said. He wasn't at practice this week.

Ford is still on the team as of this time.

From earlier today: Notre Dame extended a PWO offer to Cornell CB transfer Anthony Chideme-Alfaro.

Gave up pretty much nothing in coverage this past season, per PFF. Irish need cornerback depth following the departure of Clarence Lewis.

Diving catch on what appears to be a slot fade for sophomore WR KK Smith, on a throw from freshman QB CJ Carr.

Looked like Jaiden Ausberry covering Smith out of the slot.

What has Notre Dame's TE room looked like with several injuries this spring? It's been the Cooper Flanagan show, and Mike Denbrock is impressed.
