Colorado passed the first law in the U.S. to govern using AI for high-stakes decision making such such as applying for a loan, apartment, etc. This is a big deal and other states have similar efforts. There's still work to be done, but it's a real start.

Something big happened in AI policy Friday night. Colorado Gov. Polis signed a first-in-the-nation law regulating the use of high-risk AI.

Arguably the most comprehensive private sector AI law in the U.S.
