Due to the extreme fire danger rating Hobart bushland parks and reserves will be closed today, Thursday 22 February.

Closures include Wellington Park and the Queens Domain summit.

We expect to re-open these areas on Friday morning.

The TasmaniaFireService has declared a total fire ban from 2am, Thursday 22 February, for the southern region of Tasmania.

This includes all of Hobart.

The fire ban will be in place for two days, until 2am, Saturday 24 February.

ROAD CLOSED: High winds has resulted in a tree falling down across Huon Road.  The City of Hobart’s after hours team is working now to remove it. It is expected to be cleared by 8am.
