Update: Stripe @Atlas incorporations last month were up another +60% Y/Y. Incorporations in January 2024 were >5x those of January 2019.

Starting January 1, 2024, companies must report beneficial ownership information to the US Department of the Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). How and when to report: support.stripe.com/questions/repo….

We'll keep you updated as FinCEN shares more details.

For founders outside the US, we’re seeing unusually long EIN processing times (i.e., 5–15 weeks). We’re working with the IRS to reduce delays and will keep people updated by email.

For US founders, EIN processing times are still 1–2 business days.
