Recording tonight with Ian Shepherd, Steve Tancock & anthony gibson - anything and everything up for discussion as per usual !
To be able to call Somerset Cricket 🏆 home on a glorious Spring evening, with Annie Chave at my side, is cricket commentary heaven. And against Essex too. Never in doubt? There were moments, but we got there in the end. This win might just have set up the Championship season.
Best session of the season so far: Essex 45/6, Somerset Cricket 🏆 45/0! BBC Sport Bristol
Not Somerset Cricket 🏆’s best morning. Too many four-balls, releasing the pressure. Must do better to restrict Essex to a gettable lead on a still lively pitch BBC Sport Bristol
A view of the Blackdowns for a change. Big day ahead for Somerset Cricket 🏆’s season. Key question: will this pitch flatten out, as per Notts, or will it continue to nip around? Join us on BBC Sport website from 11 to find out BBC Sport Bristol
I've a horrible feeling that in getting bowled out for 128, Somerset Cricket 🏆 may have missed the chance of a first win of 2024. Pretorius reckons that this pitch won't flatten out like the Notts one. If so, we're not far behind. But we'll need both to bat and bowl better than so far
Good from Somerset Cricket 🏆 to bowl Essex out for 156, all of their seamers contributing on a helpful pitch. How good? That we'll discover when Somerset come out to bat in a few minutes' time. Josh Davey's hamstring is a worry for later in the game.BBC Sport Bristol #bbccricket
All set at the CACG. Cloudy but dry. Somerset Cricket 🏆 win toss and bowl on greenish pitch. No Bashir or Aldridge, which seems a shame. Commentary on BBC Sport website and app from 11 BBC Sport Bristol BBC Somerset
So a draw it was. Jake Ball did his job well, followed by Tom Lammonby (again - what a season he's having), and the impressive Andrew Umeed, both displaying great concentration and considerable style. J Kerr pulled his punches re the bowling, but we didnt half miss Craig Overton
Frustrating day for Somerset Cricket 🏆, leaving nothing but the draw to play for and picking up only 2 bowling pts. Bash showed what a fine bowler he’s becoming but seamers failed to build pressure. The coaches have plenty to work on! BBC Sport Bristol
I bring good news! 12.10 start, lunch at 1.30. Join us for commentary on Somerset Cricket 🏆 v Worcs on the BBC Sport website and app from the start BBC Sport Bristol BBC Somerset #bbccricket
