Conservatives Overnight my pension lost 20% of its value after your membership chose to elect a leader who had been warned not to do what she did. I am staggered that you have chosen this battleground. I have moderate to low faith in Labour, but your party is in no position to talk.

Never seen much concern in the Tory papers about state schools closing in areas of falling rolls. Indeed this has frequently been celebrated by those on the right as evidence that the “market” is working. Welcome to our world.

£2.5 billion for a half-baked plan for free labour when millions of children come to school hungry, SEND is in crisis & funding disappears to prop up bankrupt councils, when a child waits months for CAMHS, when schools have cut to the bone.

I love this. The thing that always strikes me about Bridget Phillipson is how genuinely invested in education she is, there seems to be a clear desire to improve schools for children. You watch this and you realise just how authentic she is.

Miss Haq saw the value in all her pupils — even the shy girl with plaits in the corner of class. It was lovely to see her again.

Teachers make the difference that matters. That’s why Labour will recruit 6500 more by ending tax breaks for private schools.

Quite the experience to get to go to a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. Had a fantastic time despite the pretty ferocious weather. Thanks to Teach First for taking me. Emily Commander Russell Hobby

Gov knows exactly the issue they have caused but there is deafening silence on this. Two thirds of all local authorities are in deficit on the school grant to the tune of £1bn. But look the other way at our new Sex Ed guidance everyone….

'Britain’s high streets are depressed and, in some places, almost dystopian. They are a tangible manifestation of the state of the nation. Aimless and broken.'

We just can’t afford not to invest in education and our children’s future. Our happiness and prosperity as a nation depend on it.

Great to see Andrew O'Neill on Good Morning Britain advocating for our profession - about time mainstream media started reporting the reality of the recruitment and retention crisis.

Today’s report from the Education Select Committee on retention and recruitment is an indictment of the government’s approach to schools.

Teaching is a wonderful profession. It needs investing in if we are going to inspire the next generation of children.
