Today, we began activations across Africa to advocate for an equitable #WHOPandemicAgreement that ensures access to healthcare for ALL during pandemics! An agreement that is grounded on fairness, not one that seeks to protect #Pharmagreed . #NoEquityNoAgreement . AIDS Healthcare
Agreements should address the needs of vulnerable groups like children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, providing provisions for unique challenges and better access to healthcare and support services, fostering inclusivity.

Equal access to vaccines and medical supplies is essential, lets not discriminate. #HealthEquityNow #StopPharmaGreed
Equity, not exploitation must be the cornerstone of the pandemic agreement.
The prevention, preparedness & response efforts for any future pandemic must prioritize equity for all countries in access to health resources

We urge world leaders to rise to the occasion.
Let us craft a #PandemicAgreement that is transparent, accountable & equitable , one that prioritizes people over profits, & ensures cooperative & tangible engagement with CSOs and NGOs.

As CSOs, we want #WHOPandemicAgreement to be clear on a global financing mechanism that is accountable & enshrines explicit commitments to new, sustainable,& increased funding from developed countries 4 pandemic prevention, preparedness & response in developing countries.
This is a call to action to ensure equality in all aspects regarding healthcare

Youth leaders from AHF Uganda Cares are currently conducting a community dialogue on drug and substance abuse at Lacor Center in Gulu.
This is due to the alarming rates of drug abuse among young people, exacerbating the risk of HIV infections.

The draft of #WHOPandemicAgreement lacks a provision ensuring prompt & sufficient access to essential health products for developing nations during a pandemic.
The proposed text is unbalanced & biased favoring the requests of developed nations over the needs of developing ones
We demand for a fair and inclusive #WHOPandemicAgreement , guaranteeing healthcare access for everyone in times of pandemics.
Our aim is an agreement rooted in equity and fairness not one that seeks to protect

As the World prepares to conclude the negotiations of Pandemic Agreement happening in Geneva, we join AHF Uganda Cares , HEPS-Uganda and other #CSOs to demand for the immediate World Health Organization (WHO) action on the unfair #WHOPandemicAgreement proposal. #EquitableCare Afya na Haki
Key areas of contention, like pathogen access, benefit-sharing, research & development & technology transfer, remain mired in disagreement
While we strive for consensus, we cannot compromise on a win for Africa & by extension, a win for global health security.

This morning I represented CSBAG (csbag.org) Julius Mukunda - truth always counts! in a press conference organized by AHF Uganda Cares to advocate for an equitable World Health Organization (WHO) Pandemic Agreement. We believe that now is the time for Health Equity, and so partners needs to push for it.
“Wealthy nations seem more concerned with protecting the intellectual property rights of drug companies than with the lives on the line. This prioritization of profit over people is a familiar &tragic refrain for African countries”

Need to ensure the Pandemic Agreement includes a funding mechanism that will support the implementation of the pandemic instrument at the national and international level, particularly by providing financial assistance to developing countries.

“The current draft of the agreement is a pale imitation of what's needed. It's riddled with empty promises & lacks teeth to ensure equitable access to health resources during pandemics”
