Baby classes have been a surprising reintroduction to right-wingers. The amount I'm having to hold my tongue to be able to get through the classes is lol.

I agree with this.

I once got asked to notetake in a meeting I was the lead technical expert in. It made no sense for me to be notetaking.

I said 'No. You've asked me as I'm the only woman.'

The meeting lead just stopped and said 'oh shit yeah'. It was assigned to someone else

People that cannot work are not 'scroungers'. It's really important to recognise we are all one accident or medical emergency away from not being able to work. It shouldn't need that context to empathise with those that cannot work, and yet it often seems to.

'For working people'
'For working people'
'For working people'

A lot of people do not work. They may be young, disabled, retired etc.

Working isn't the only way people add value to society, and it'd be great to see labour recognise that.

Couldn't remember the word for burping, so went with 'degassing* the baby' instead

*No child has been put in a vacuum chamber

The 'labour don't have a plan' line is already getting old. I can see the plan. It's outlined right there *waves hands*. It's next level gaslighting.

I fucking can’t believe this in the Spectator about Nicola Coughlan dripping with nastiness and fatphobia. You think you are moving forward as a
society by teeny inches and then a woman comes along who drags us all many steps back with words like these.

Referred to our baby as my biggest achievement, and my husband proceeded to list off a bunch of my achievements 🥲

I'll say it again. Every PhD student + everyone who works with PhD students should know about this book 📖
And if your library doesn't have access to a copy yet, take a couple of minutes out of your day to make the request

Can't tell you the joy it brings me that there might be a date in reach for this god awful government to be ousted

Reposting this today, because Marissa Kate , Dr Zoë Ayres , and Alicia A-Z, PhD, she/her have all reminded me this week how important it is to speak out about our experiences. I am very proud of this piece, but it is also very personal, and mines painful memories. zeal.kings.edu/zeal/article/v…

Seems as good as time as any to rehighlight this excellent paper on decolonising the chemistry undergraduate curriculum
