Tomorrow we'll be at Wildgoose Rural Training Nature Reserve between Grimley and Holt #Worcestershire for the Worcester & Malvern RSPB 'Beginning Birding' Open Day 10am-3pm.

Midsummer Hill early am - No sign of Wood Warbler. Still plenty about though - 3 Tree Pipit, 3 Redstart, 2 Whitethroat, Garden Warbler, Willow Warbler, Meadow Pipit. Worcester Birding #Worcsbirds

Had an enjoyable afternoon in SW Worcs with plenty of birds inc 4 Great Egrets, 25 Little Egret, Shelducks with broods, together with a Dunlin & 2 LRPs joined by 17 Ringed Plover (displaying). Also Cuckoos, Redstarts, Yellow Wagtails and fly through Hobby #Longdon Worcester Birding

A Beetle and a Spotted Flycatcher at the top end of Dowles Brook, Wyre Forest. No sign of the Wood Warbler (one was very showy this time last year), but these were great compensation. Taken last Friday. Worcester Birding WestMidsBirding

Worcestershire Beacon this afternoon. 40+ Swifts feeding low over the grass on the east side of the hill. Offering fantastic close views to within a couple of meters at times. They were joined by 6 House Martins and 1 Swallow. Singing Skylark overhead.

Cool, breezy and relatively quiet on Midsummer Hill this evening, apart from this single Spotted Flycatcher. Worcester Birding #Worcsbirds

With Pied Flycatchers hanging on by a thread at the south end of the #MalvernHills it was good to see this male continuing to hold territory at the north end of the range early this morning.
