From medieval record-keeping roots, through 19th c. evolution and 20th c. destruction, to 21st c. redevelopment - preparing for the 22nd century and beyond. 👍🙂
Work has begun on the ambitious re-development of our National Archives National Archives, Ireland 🙌
The collections here total over 50m records from the 16th century right through to the modern Irish state.
This major project will protect these records into the future.

Thanks to a wonderful donation from Professor Aidan Clarke’s family, Carlow College’s Keeffe and PJ Brophy archives librarian Joe Connolly has now catalogued the entire 1500 work donation. TCD Histories Dr. Bríd McGrath many thanks for making the connection with the Clarke family.
