⏳ This means added delay and uncertainty for victims, amid a record Crown Court backlog.

⚠️ We owe it victims to do better.

I share Domestic Abuse Commissioner's concerns: accurate data is essential; good policy rests on real numbers.

But this is about more than just columns in a spreadsheet. It's also about safeguarding each and every survivor.

Without a clear picture of offending, we risk failing victims.

Our justice system too often adopts a 'one-size-fits all' approach to justice.

But what if we could find more solutions tailored to individual and community needs?

A pleasure to speak at #StMaryConf24 today and discuss how to deliver a system that serves the needs of all.

I welcome moves to make it easier for police to issue stalking orders.

Early intervention is key to protect victims.

Too often, the bigger picture is missed, with a focus on isolated incidents instead of the pattern of abuse.

I hope new guidelines will improve the response.
