Finally got to watch ‘Tish’ about the photographer Tish Murtha. Just ridiculously talented and tragically overlooked.

The Tish Murtha documentary on BBC4 is outstanding. Just a fascinating look at her incredible photos that captured the conditions and experiences which shaped working class life in ‘70’s and ‘80’s Britain.

I watched this wonderfully moving doc last night. Definitely worth watching on iplayer.

Murtha's work is poignant and powerful. Her life story is both inspiring and tragic. She documented working class lives in the NE, against the backdrop of deindustrialisation and social change; her own life was an exemplar of how class and gender thwarted her success
