Secure accommodation and the establishment of a new guardianship service to work with minors on a daily basis is the key to prevent separated children and unaccompanied minors from going missing.

Very important to see this first inspection report from HIQA. Inspectors found a lot of non-compliance including safeguarding issues including the failure to ensure staff were Garda vetted. There was also an absence of safeguarding policies in a number of centres.
