My Small Community Air Service Enhancement Act cleared the Senate to help get Montana airports more flights that cost less. This measure will ensure our rural airports don't fall through the cracks so that communities large and small have the options they need to stay connected.

As we honor the service and bravery of law enforcement officers this week, we also remember those officials who have died or been disabled in the line of duty on Peace Officers Memorial Day. We owe them and their families a debt of gratitude that we can never repay.

In response to our pressure, USPS announced yesterday a halt to its mail processing consolidation plans that would have jeopardized some postal operations in Missoula. This is a big win for rural America and a big win for the mail service Montanans depend on.

In rural America, we rely on law enforcement agencies with small numbers of officers to cover huge areas—and to do their jobs, they need access to proper funding. My Invest to Protect Act would get these agencies that support without needless red tape.

I told Postmaster DeJoy that relocating Missoula's outgoing mail processing was a complete nonstarter—and now, USPS is halting the misguided plans that led to the decision. We can't let DC bureaucrats jeopardize the service that rural America depends on.
