It was an honor to receive the MAZON Justice Award for Advancing the Response to Hunger. It represents all that we have accomplished together to build a future in which no one goes hungry, and where those who struggle are not shamed, judged, or ignored.

America won't thrive if our rural communities aren't thriving.

The Rural Prosperity and Food Security Act will support family farms, expand access to nutritious food, and invest in rural communities.

The AFL-CIO strongly opposes the House Committee on Agriculture Farm Bill.

Families rely on Food for Peace – and also SNAP, SNAP’s Thrifty Food Plan, and other federal nutrition and food security programs. We cannot support making harmful policy changes or funding cuts to any of them.

If fighting to make sure families in need can get a good meal, count me in as a “hunger weirdo,” too 🙋‍♀️

This “Hunger Weirdo” is fighting for small farmers, rural communities, and people who need help putting food on the table in the next Farm Bill.

At today’s The White House Rural Communities in Action event, community leaders came together to hear about the incredible contributions of rural communities and recommitted to ensuring rural Americans do not have to leave their hometowns to find opportunity.

When rural America succeeds, we all succeed. That’s why we’re creating a Farm Bill that gives them the tools they need to continue to be successful.

The Rural Prosperity and Food Security Act:
✅builds on our commitment to rural communities
✅makes meaningful investments into the farm safety net
✅keeps families fed
✅invests in climate-smart conservation practices
✅addresses the issue of foreign farmland ownership

Democrats are laser-focused on tackling costs and growing the middle class all around the country. 
 
Our Rural Prosperity and Food Security Act does just that by investing in high-speed internet, family farms, good-paying jobs, and more.

Minnesota farmers and producers need and deserve the certainty that comes with a 5-year Farm Bill. That’s why I’m encouraged by Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s proposal that improves health, expands opportunities for small and diverse farmers and supports rural communities.

This week, Senate Ag, Nutrition, & Forestry Committee Dems released a Farm Bill framework that’s going to improve many programs for our farmers, ranchers, and producers. I'm proud to have written inclusions to help families with acequias, protect SNAP, keep our food systems reliable and give farmers more support.
