I spoke to the #PaHouse Health Committee on the need for my bill that would extend Medicaid coverage to doula services. This is needed so much in our maternal health deserts of rural PA & for Black mothers who face higher rates of complications. The bill was approved! #PAMOMNIBUS

I had to set the record straight for my Republican colleagues on the Health Committee who claimed that #BlackMaternalHealthWeek would exclude people who identify as “pregnant individuals.” They were sorely mistaken. Thankful for the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus!

It's Black Maternal Health Week here at the state Capitol and we've made so much progress in bringing awareness to the often fatal health issues facing Black mothers and birthing people. We kicked off #BMHW24 with a reception in the Capitol Rotunda on Monday evening.
