We still have a long way to go toward national legalization but this recommendation by President Biden and DEA HQ to reclassify cannabis as a Schedule III drug will provide much-needed relief to legal cannabis retailers who are struggling under current regulations.

Friday afternoon I joined MTA staff Alejo and Ellen for a Slow Sanchez happy hour — they’ve spent the past year gathering community input on potential improvements to the slow street, and I’m excited to see the final design take shape! Thank you Alejo and Ellen!

To celebrate Earth Month, I joined SF Environment ♻️💚, San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, and SF Parks Alliance at Heron’s Head Park to launch the Climate Equity Hub, which will help bring clean energy to environmental justice neighborhoods like the Bayview and keep our families healthy.

Yesterday, UCSF celebrated 40 years of AHP and their amazing work supporting the mental health and wellness of LGBTQ and HIV-affected communities.

I got to spend some time this morning with HHS Secretary Secretary Xavier Becerra, Senator Scott Wiener, and SF LGBTQ leaders for a discussion of behavioral health, drug policy, trans kids and other issues of importance to our queer community. Thank you Secretary Becerra for a great conversation!
