Spring wildlife showing well Ipswich Golf Club in the last week - frogs spawning, Wild plum flowering well attracting numerous bees, first Slow worm of the year out & about, bird song at dawn increasing. Even some warm sunshine at last. Ecology @ BIGGA Golf Environment Awards
Heathland restoration in full swing Ipswich Golf Club areas worked on during winter having litter removed, seeded with Fescues & Heather brash and seed pods collected on site. 1/3 done so will continue next week all part of our Countryside stewardship scheme Ecology @ BIGGA

Despite quite wet weather at times still been a good year for wildlife sightings Ipswich Golf Club Possibly best year ever for fungi, breeding birds did OK and some nice insects about. Hopefully more great wildlife to be seen in 2024! Ecology @ BIGGA Golf Environment Awards
2023 has been another challenging year Ipswich Golf Club with all the rain but we have carried on regardless making our estate better for wildlife with our continuing heath restoration and wetland projects, ably assisted by Greenways Project on some areas. More planned for 2024!

A busy day today for Purdis Heath Greenkeepers Ipswich golf club ecology page Ipswich Golf Club 500m2 of Tillers Turf fescue/bent delivered at the crack of dawn, most has now been laid on bunker banks. Followed by nearly 1000 heather's planted. Thanks team for putting in a long shift before tomorrow's rain.
