'profit-making corporations own 83% of children’s residential care......children in residential care, on average, generate £910 each of profit a week for the corporations that control them'

This has to be one of the greatest scandals around.

Criminal.

'Bilal said that purchasing power, which is how much people are able to buy with their money, would already be 37% higher than it is now without global heating seen over the past 50 years'

And what would that have done for emissions?

At COP29 'the focus will shift from what there is too much of – fossil fuels – to what the proponents of action severely lack finance'

Phew. The FF corporations will be ecstatic

Off the hook AGAIN

And will emissions fall as a result? No

£120 MILLION richer in a single year for doing F-all.

This is what capitalism is designed to do.

Make the rich richer at the expense of everyone else.

Smash it 💪

Can you believe this? I guess you probably can.

'Advisor' who wants to ban protest groups is linked to arms dealers and fossil fuel corporations.

This is nothing less than the anti-climate, pro-war, coalition, closing ranks and hunkering down.

More absolutely dire news on the bird front.

If we don't stop oblierating insect populations soon, there will no insectivorous birds left in the UK.

Quite incredible. Change, change, change, but not change.

Talk about the elephant in the room.

DON'T LOOK UP has nothing on this debacle.

Your home may be a wreck due to flash flooding, you have next to nothing to eat because of widespread harvest failure, and your kids have malaria after the disease marched north from southern Europe

.......but at least there's no graffiti

.Keir Starmer introduces his six pledges

Spot anything missing?

Oh yes, tackling the greatest threat humanity and the UK have ever faced and preparing the nation for the onslaught that is coming

Criminally negligent

Nice piece of research flagging the fact that a cleaner atmosphere as fossil fuel usage eventually drops, will also increase temperatures.

We really have got ourselves into one hell of a mess.

Another example of the colossal potential of nature to suck up carbon.

There is no doubt that widespread rewilding is a critical part of tackling the and ecological emergency.

A grim read indeed.

Intuitively, I suspect that a 12 percent GDP reduction for every 1C rise is extremely conservative.

Surely no surprise that this has accelerated under Tory (mis)rule.

It makes it easier for their rich mates and cronies to do their dodgy business

The fools (mis)running the UK barely acknowledge the existence of breakdown and have planned - as you would expect - for absolutely nothing.

Absolutely the right decision.

This is an awful, tragic, case, but paranoid schizophrenia is an illness like any other.

It is never just to punish someone for being ill.

In the last 5 years, countries were forced to pay fossil fuel corporations $62 BILLION because they didn't want them drilling there

We are having to pay these people huge wads of cash just to slow down the rate at which they destroy the planet

Madness
